    Horizon-15.15 to 15:45

    • A talented upcoming band in the local area, consisting of pupils from HSLC – Maisy Wilson, Joey Larvin, Harry Livingston, Bailey Bowman and Tommy Dury- they’ve been together for just over a year and have built a great reputation in the local town of Hornsea and surrounding areas. They play a good range of covers guaranteed to be enjoyed by everyone!

The Underpant Explodes –16.00 to 16:45 ish

    • We started around 1983, and we’ve played mainly just local gigs, but we’ve also played at spiders in Hull 3 times, played at Floral for the late John Peel on one of his roadshows, and we’ve previously supported Half Man Half Biscuit.

The name of the Band is ‘The Underpant Explodes’, why? god knows, I think it was a play on ‘The Teardrop Explodes’ who were big around the early 80’s.

Our music style was once described as ‘spoof rock’, which probably sums it up best – It’s very tongue in cheek and not to be taken seriously

We do a fast/punk version of ‘Matchstalk Men & Matchstalk Cats & Dogs’ (originally by Brian & Michael in 1978)

a version of Common People by Pulp called ‘I want to be a caravanner’ aimed at the many visitors that flock to the local caravan sites

We do a song about Warburtons bread (yep honest)

      Another about Geoff Boycott

One called West Riding Rock – also about the many visitors from the West Riding

we do a few covers of adverts from the telly such as shake n Vac / Quick fit fitter / Bran Flakes / R Whites lemonade

    Sunday 2oth Running Order

    –  All times can be subject to variation –

    BLOOM –12.30 to 13:10

Our duo formed from a really big love of music! Noah, our vocalist and guitarist, and me (Katie), the pianist and saxophonist, bonded over how our styles blended together and we wouldn’t have the relationship we have now without music. We decided to join forces truly because we love working together and we’re always looking for an excuse to spend more time with each other! My music taste always expands because of Noah’s amazing knowledge of bands, singers and songwriters and ever since we found this bond between us, we’ve been more and more impressed by the other’s abilities on our instruments. Our dynamic brings us both so much happiness and there is never any conflict that could tear us apart. The banter on the other hand…we definitely don’t hold back! Blooms give us an outlet and a reason to wake up, sit down with our instruments and not only feel happy but proud of ourselves. This competition would be one of the first times we’ve performed together, which in some cases would warrant anxiety, but all we feel is excitement and extreme gratitude for the opportunity it’s given us. Nothing brings us more joy than our love for music and to spread that love with lots of other people is all we ever want to do.
